I am pleased to announce what classes I submitted to teach during the Fall 2019 quarter at the Jan Dempsey Community Arts Center in Auburn, Alabama. I have to submit my classes, and they still have to be approved and added to the schedule. Please check back closer to the Winter quarter for the finalized version.

~ PRIVATE AND SEMI-PRIVATE LESSONS ~
Private & Semi-Private Art Lessons
• Type of class: fine art
• Description: Artist and educator Laurie Brenden offers private and semi-private art lessons in the fine arts including watercolors, drawing, mixed media and much more. A private lesson is for one student. Semi-private lessons are for two students; the students can be siblings, family members, friends, etc. These lessons are available by appointment only and spaces are limited! Please contact the instructor directly for more information or to sign up.
• Ages: 6 years to adult
• Class Term: September 23 to November 15, 2019
• Day & Time: by appointment ONLY!
• Class fee: Private -> $90.00 for lessons (6, 1 hour sessions) plus $20.00 for supplies; Semi-Private -> $66.00 for lessons (6, 1 hour sessions) plus $20.00 for supplies per student (*Supply fee depends on media and unit chosen.)
~ KIDS, 8 to 12 ~
Kids Can Draw: Chibi Monsters
• Type of class: drawing
• Description: Manga is a Japanese style of comics; one popular aspect of manga are the chibis which are tiny, and often cute. Full of personality, style, and pizzazz we will learn how to draw chibi creatures, popularly known as “pocket monsters”. Each student will be encouraged to develop his or her own anime/manga characters and unique style of drawing. Skill Level, Beginner/Intermediate: No prior experience required. Small group instruction. All supplies are included.
• Ages: 8-12
• Dates: September 24 to November 12, 2019 (8 weeks)
• Day & Time: Tuesdays from 4:30 to 6 pm
• Class fee: $96.00
Kids Can Paint: Expressionism
• Type of class: painting
• Description: Expressionism is exciting paintings full of emotions. In this class students will explore the artwork of six famous expressionists, and then use their works as a springboard to explore art, and creativity. Each artist will have an “inspiration” piece based on their style, use of color, etc. However, each student will be encouraged to explore his or her own artistic style, and create their own unique work of art. All supplies will be included. Skill Level, Beginner/Intermediate: No prior experience required. Small group instruction. All supplies are included.

• Dates: September 19 to November 14, 2019 (8 weeks); No class 10/31/2019
• Day & Time: Thursdays from 4:30 to 6:30 pm
• Class fee: $115.00 (includes supplies)
