Fall 2018 Classes Announced

~ CLASSES FOR Fall 2018 ANNOUNCED ~

I am pleased to announce what classes I submitted to teach during the Fall 2018 quarter at the Jan Dempsey Community Arts Center in Auburn, Alabama.  I had to submit my classes, and they still have to be approved and added to the schedule.  Please check back closer to the Fall quarter for the finalized version.

~ PRIVATE AND SEMI-PRIVATE LESSONS ~
Private & Semi-Private Art Lessons
• Type of class: fine art
• Description: Artist and educator Laurie Brenden offers private and semi-private art lessons in the fine arts including watercolors, drawing, mixed media and much more. A private lesson is for one student. Semi-private lessons are for two students; the students can be siblings, family members, friends, etc. These lessons are available by appointment only and spaces are limited! Please contact the instructor directly for more information or to sign up.
• Ages: 6 years to adult
• Class Term: September 17 to November 2, 2018
• Day & Time: by appointment ONLY!
• Class fee: Private -> $90.00 for lessons (6, 1 hour sessions) plus $20.00 for supplies; Semi-Private -> $66.00 for lessons (6, 1 hour sessions) plus $20.00 for supplies per student (*Supply fee depends on media and unit chosen.)

~ KIDS, 8 to 12 ~
Kids Can Draw: Cartoons
• Type of class: drawing
• Description: Learn how to draw fantastic cartoons using geometric shapes. Then we will up the ante by learning about special effects, emotions and costumes. By the end of the quarter, each student will have created their own unique charter, and comic strip. Small group instruction. Skill level, Basic: No prior experience required. All supplies will be included.
• Ages: 8 to 12
• Dates: September 20 to November 1, 2018 (7 weeks)
• Day & Time: Thursdays from 4:30 to 6:30 pm
• Class fee: $85.00 (includes supplies)

~ TEENS, 12 to 17 ~
Fantasy Drawing: Faeries & Folk Tales
• Type of class: drawing
• Description: Learn how to draw faeries, awesome gnomes, and other creatures from folk lore. Students taking this class will learn some basic drawing techniques plus cool tips and tricks. Each students will be encouraged to develop his or her own fantast charters and unique style of drawing. Skill level, Beginner/Intermediate: No prior experience required. Small Group instruction. All supplies are included.
• Ages: 12 to 17
• Dates: September 18 to October 30, 2018 (7 weeks)
• Day & Time: Tuesdays  from 4:30 to 6:30 pm
• Class fee: $85.00 (includes supplies)

~ YOUNG ADULTS/ADULTS, 15+ ~
Adult Drawing Studio: Portraits
• Type of class: drawing
• Description: Learn to draw realistic portraits! Explore the wonderful world of art in a small group setting with other adults. Students will learn to draw people using graphite pencil and shading. Skill Level: basic/ intermediate: No prior experience needed. Contact the instructor for supply list.
• Ages: 15+
• Dates: September 20 to November 1, 2018 (7 weeks)
• Day & Time: Thursdays from 6:30 to 8:30 pm
• Class fee: $85.00 (NO SUPPLIES INCLUDED)
